Aboriginal Music Week 2012 Aboriginal Music Week 2012 has a number of volunteer opportunities for capable adults and youth from all nations. If you're interested in helping, we want to hear from you.

Volunteers can earn the following benefits:
1. One copy of our Aboriginal Music Week 2012 compilation CD (two hours of work).
2. Two tickets to one Aboriginal Music Week 2012 concert (6 hours of work).
3. One Aboriginal Music Week 2012 festival pass (12 hours of work).

4. A list of skills you can offer
5. The volunteer work that you would like to do

If you are between the ages of 14 and 18, you will need a parent or guardian to complete our Permission Form for Underage Volunteers.

We have the following opportunities available.

Aboriginal Music Week Promotional Team at APTN's Aboriginal Day Live Festival
Date: Saturday, June 23
Location: The Scotiabank Stage, Winnipeg, Manitoba
Hours: 11am-10pm

  • Distribute promotional materials to people at The Forks
  • Staff the Aboriginal Music Week info table
  • Help with photography booth operations

Production Volunteers for Aboriginal Music Week events and concerts
Dates: September 14, 2012 and October 30 - November 4, 2012
Location: Music venues in Winnipeg
Hours: 6pm-2am (depending on the venue)

  • Help set up signage, merchandise displays, PA systems, and backline
  • Staff merchandise tables

Audience Survey Volunteers for Aboriginal Music Week Concerts
Dates: October 30 - November 4, 2012
Location: Music venues in Winnipeg
Hours: 7pm-2am (depending on the venue)

  • Collect audience surveys at each concert
  • Conduct short qualitative interviews with guests as they leave

Online Promotions Team
Dates: August 6 - November 4, 2012
Location: Facebook, Twitter, Blogosphere, Email
Hours: anytime and everytime

  • Use your online profiles and email networks to promote the concerts
  • Drive people to the www.aboriginalmusicweek.ca website for access to free music downloads from Aboriginal Music Week artists
